- Title: Tiny Toons Looniversity – Freshman Orientoontion
- IMDb: link
Following in the steps of the rebooted Animaniacs, Tiny Toons gets reimagined into the new Tiny Toons Looniversity featuring younger Looney Tunes characters following in the footsteps of the original Looney Tunes characters who act as mentors and teachers at the Looniversity. The new version brings back the core of the original show (albeit with new voice actors). Not surprisingly, the opening episode puts twins Buster Bunny (Eric Bauza) and Babs Bunny (Ashleigh Crystal Hairston) front and center as they arrive on campus and are forced to make new friends after being separated into different dorms.
The bunny-heavy episode features Babs finding a new friend in roommate Sweetie Bird (Tessa Netting), making up the best part of the episode, while Buster runs into conflict with Plucky (David Errigo Jr.) and makes a new friend of his own in Hampton J. Pig (David Errigo Jr.) who is struggling to live up to his family’s comedic legacy. While introducing the same core characters, somewhat updated for the new version, we see plenty of the various supporting characters from the original show’s run in background shots including my favorite Dizzy Devil who I hope we’ll see more of on the reboot. The episode isn’t a wow, but it is a solid start providing a reintroduction to the characters (with the wacky meter turned up a couple of notches).
