Throwback Tuesday takes us back to another episode featuring a man who can be anyone he wants to be. Jarod (Michael T. Weiss) joins a search group to find a missing college student in the middle of a national forest. This is one of the few examples of the series where Jarod impulsively leaps into action prior to doing a hefty amount of preparation and research, setting up an identity, and leaving clues for the Centre to follow. Despite evidence that the missing boy been injured and washed downstream, Jarod and another volunteer in the search, Nia (Elpidia Carrillo), continue searching the mountain where they discover a plane crash, drug money, and uncover a murder by another ranger (John Posey).
A meeting with truffle hunter Big Bob (Jack Kehler) and his partner Little Bob the pig puts Jarod on the right path to both to the plane crash and the mine where the ranger sealed him inside. The flashbacks of “Ranger Jarod” are notable for offering more scenes of Jarod’s childhood (Ryan Merriman) and his relationship with a young Miss Parker (Ashley Peldon) which play on Jarod’s meeting with Nia, who also is troubled by a tragic past, in the current storyline in which Jarod finds himself falling in love. Nia becomes one of the only guest-stars to see one of Jarod’s recreations. With Miss Parker (Andrea Parker) not having cryptic clues to search for Jarod in this episode, she thinks over the past as well including when she gave Jarod his first kiss.
