- Title: The Librarians – And the Cost of Education
- wiki: link
Unusual events send the Librarians to Wexler College where the college mascot is the latest member to disappear from campus without warning. Built by an eccentric occultist decades before, the Librarians discover plenty of odd aspects about the college whose layout and unique properties allow for a temporal rift on which sits a tentacled monster reaching out to pull others across dimensions. The episode makes the best of the show’s limited special effects budget in creating the creature and rifts (although life in the other dimension is a bit underwhelming).
“And the Cost of Education” allows Jake (Christian Kane) to argue with a respected idol over the campus’ unique architecture, Ezekiel (John Harlan Kim) to give into his ego acting as bait for the monster who targets vain individuals, and Cassandra (Lindy Booth) to make a friend (Kasha Kropinski) with an extensive knowledge of physics and a curiosity for magic. The episode also introduces Cassandra to the Ladies of the Lake (led by Kane’s fellow Leverage alum Beth Riesgraf) whose own beliefs and interests in magic may eventually cause problems for the Librarians. Although tempted by their offer, Cassandra decides to remain with the Library but we’ll have to wait and see if the group can influence her to change her mind.
Better and better with each episode. I highly recommend The Librarians to any and everyone to watch. Fun for the family and can be educational too! Love it.. Christian Kane as Jake Stone is my favorite character. Looking forward to more!
