All-in on his plan to force the Lazarus Project to reboot time, the fifth and sixth episodes of The Lazarus Project deal with George (Paapa Essiedu) getting his hands on the nuclear bomb and the aftermath. Securing and detonating the bomb becomes tricky when another terrorist group is in control hoping to steal the detonator from him. More trouble involves a broken down truck, getting shot in the middle of nowhere, and eventually having to detonate the bomb far from any major cities. While all this is going on, George begins the process of framing Shiv (Rudi Dharmalingam) for events.
After discovering the bomb wasn’t enough to cause the chain reaction for an apocalypse, George goes into full-blown terrorist mode inside the Russian embassy finally getting the reaction he hoped for. The pair of episodes have a winding and twisting path to them in the unexpected troubles George runs into. While she attempts to prove Shiv isn’t a traitor, we also get some flashbacks between Shiv and Archie (Anjli Mohindra) including his recruitment of her into the Lazarus Project. By the end of “Episode 6” all of George’s hard work pays off, but with time reset and Shiv gunning for him he’ll have a new host of problems to deal with.
