The Second Season of The Irrational picks up from the cliffhanger at the end of the First Season as Alec (Jesse L. Martin), searches for the kidnapped Rose (Karen David) taken for her involvement in a MI6 mission years ago that went wrong by a man who wants answers and revenge. While there’s not much in the way of experiments, Owen (Arash DeMaxi) confirms someone obsessed with revenge isn’t likely to abandon it (by allowing previous test subjects to take revenge on him), the episode does feature Alec using his skills to draw out the situation long enough for the FBI to find them.
Building on the professor’s opening lecture about how someone in an emotional state may make questionable decisions, the episode plays this out with Alec allowing himself to be kidnapped as well to find Rose and buy them both some time. While both survive the experience more or less unscathed, we see Rose headed out sadly suggesting that, at least for now, her role might be at best only a recurring character. While Phoebe (Molly Kunz) continues working her new job, she does lend some assistance in Owen’s experiment suggesting that while Rose may not be sticking around Phoebe may not be gone just yet.
