- Title: The Flash – Therefore She Is

Relationships are the main theme of “Therefore She Is” which not only brings back Gypsy (Jessica Camacho) from Earth-19 to help stop DeVoe (Neil Sandilands) who has begun stealing various classified components for his Englightenment but also offers flashbacks to DeVoe and Marlize‘s (Kim Engelbrecht) relationship over the years. The DeVoe/Marlize scenes help fill in some basic information about the pair’s relationship and how Marlize was eventually won over to her husband’s radical ideas. As has been foreshadowed several times over the course of the season, the super-villain’s recent actions finally create a split between the two (although apparently not enough of one for Marlize to stop the Enlightenment… at least not yet).
I’ve enjoyed the Cisco (Carlos Valdes)/Gypsy relationship, but the offer of a job on the alternate Earth was obviously the beginning of the end for the pair. Neither really wanting Cisco to take the job, but both needing more than what their current relationship offers, separates this pair of lovers as well. While less romantic in tone, even the smaller ongoing stories focus on relationships as Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) steps in to help Harry (Tom Cavanagh) work through his recent condition and discover DeVoe’s master plan, and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) begins taking greater and greater risks to be reunited with her missing frosty alter-ego.
