- Title: The Flash – The Death of Vibe

Despite the episode’s title, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) will survive to banter sarcastically for another day (although his super-hero days appear to be over for the time being). Instead, “The Death of Vibe” is memorable for two things. First, the return of Tom Cavanagh as yet another parallel Earth version of Harrison Wells who is brought in to help find Cicada (Chris Klein). And second, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) coming to terms with her time travel affecting history, yep she’s definitely Barry‘s (Grant Gustin) daughter, and learning to slow down before impulsively racing into action. XS may have the makings of a super-hero after all (if she can get over those mommy issues the show keeps hinting strongly at).
While Cicada still doesn’t come off as menacing as the characters are treating him, his kidnapping and torture of Joe (Jesse L. Martin) to get to Vibe does help sell him as a danger to all of Team Flash. The master detective version of “Sherloque” Wells (who turns out to be equal parts charlatan) offers an interesting twist for the team’s latest member. His entrance also gives some purpose to Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) in stepping up to help Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) with her own mystery involving a deceased father who may still be alive. I’ll be curious to see the show work in the new Wells.
