- Title: The Flash – Luck Be a Lady

While seeing out heroes’ luck turn bad, “Luck Be a Lady” answers a couple of lingering questions about the new season, most importantly how this new crop of meta-humans was created (nice one Cisco!), while bringing back the Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) of Earth-2 and introducing an unusual villain in Hazard (Sugar Lyn Beard). Despite the various troubles the woman’s luck field causes (increasing her good luck at the cost of everyone else around her), the episode continues to keep the upbeat nature of the season and bring the fun.
As a woman with perennial bad luck altered by the dark matter blast unleashed in Barry‘s (Grant Gustin) return from the speed force, Hazard is a different type of villain who poses unique challenges for Barry and his team to stop. Thankfully, Harry sticks around long enough to think up a last-second solution solution before the woman causes everyone in Central City to have a really bad day. Harry’s return is a nice surprise, while Wally‘s (Keiynan Lonsdale) departure also seems in order. With Barry back, and faster than ever, Kid Flash has become a bit redundant (I love his line about nobody even noticing he had left their dimension during their entire battle with Hazard). See ya Wally, while I like you better than some I’m not going to be shedding any tears.
This was a fun episode. I’m excited to see how her luck plays into the Thinker’s bigger plan.
