- Title: The Flash – Gorilla Warfare
- wiki: link
As Barry (Grant Gustin) licks his wounds and struggles to recover both physically and emotionally from his encounter with Zoom, and hide out from a concerned Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten), a series of incidents around the city alert S.T.A.R. Labs that Grodd has returned. Controlling the minds of scientist to steal brain drugs, Grodd kidnaps Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) with hopes that the scientist who was kindest to him as a lab animal can recreate the conditions and turn other gorillas into telepathic super-apes.
For fans of classic Flash Silver Age comics there’s much to enjoy here culminating in Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) in the Reverse-Flash costume helping to send Grodd to a little known habitat on Earth-2 known as Gorilla City. That’s right, Gorilla City is now part of the Arrow/Flash canon. Suck it Marvel! Based on the tease at the end of the episode, I can’t wait to see more!
The return of both Grodd and Henry Allen (John Wesley Shipp) help Barry put aside his bruised ego and return to running around Central City in a bright red costume. The episode’s B-story also teases Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renee) as Hawkgirl and the upcoming Arrow/Flash crossover which apparently will lay major groundwork for Legends of Tomorrow. From the brief glimspe we get from Cisco‘s (Carlos Valdes) vision I’m still on the fence about the design of her costume, but apparently Cisco is all-in on his mysterious new lady friend’s fashion style.
