- Title: The Flash – A Flash of the Lightning
- wiki: link
With Barry (Grant Gustin) travelling first to Earth-3 and then to the future to confirm the truth of the the Monitor‘s (LaMonica Garrett) statements about what is coming, it falls on the rest of Team Flash to deal with the latest meta-human (Kayla Compton) who, despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary, Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) believes is innocent of the charges against her. The meta-human story isn’t all that memorable, even with the bait-and-switch at the end, although it does seem to tease us with the first appearance of another of the DCU’s secret spy agencies (I’m guessing Spyral?).
Barry’s visit to Earth-3 does offer the return of both John Wesley Shipp and Michelle Harrison as well as the first mention of anti-matter and first glimpse of the crisis (including a fate for the flash that is reminiscent of Barry’s fate in the original comic) that has been hinted at since the show’s First Season. Barry’s acceptance of his fate doesn’t initially sit well with Iris (Candice Patton), but the pair find a way to come to terms with what’s coming. Other threads explored here include Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) getting out in the world and the continuing misadventures of mad scientist Ramsey Rosso (Sendhil Ramamurthy).
