- Title: The Crazy Ones – Love Sucks

Featuring an appearance from Robin Williams‘ old Mork & Mindy co-star Pam Dawber as Simon‘s new love interest, the latest episode of The Crazy Ones deals with the highs and lows as love as Simon also tries to help Gordon (Brad Garrett) who is despondent after his husband abandons him for not being spontaneous and too stuck in his anti-social ways. It all ends it wacky (and somewhat unfortunate) karaoke sequence that’s better of forgotten for Gordon and Simon getting a door slammed in his face (despite the attempted assistance of David Copperfield).
As one relationship effects the other, the rest of the agency see Zach‘s (James Wolk) theory of leaving the space-time continuum alone proved right when Andrew‘s (Hamish Linklater) attempt to return a co-worker’s keys gets his sucked into her needy world. Meanwhile, Sydney (Sarah Michelle Gellar) overreacts to a mildly sprained ankle.
Notable for Dawber’s appearance, “Love Sucks” sees Simon destroy a promising new relationship when Gordon’s defeatism begins to effect him as well. Although this means we aren’t likely to see her return, the character of a sort-of spontaneous author was pretty thinly written and didn’t leave much room to go had she stuck around for more episodes. As to the other storylines, Zach and Lauren (Amanda Setton) find away to solve Sydney and Andrew’s issues with a little meddling of their own.
