- Title: The Blacklist – The Scimitar

As revenge for a Mossad hit committed by Navabi (Mozhan Marnò), Iranians hire as skilled assassin known as The Scimitar (Waleed Zuaiter) to kill an Iranian-American scientist working in the United States. Although the FBI dutifully protects the suspected targets, their actions inadvertently lead to pointing the assassin directly at the most highly-valued scientist due to a traffic accident involving Lizzie (Megan Boone) and Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) and an elaborate staging area created to serve the man’s needs.
The Berlin (Peter Stormare) storyline takes an ubrupt, although hardly surprising, turn as Reddington (James Spader) kidnaps the young woman (Scottie Thompson) he recently befriended and delivers her as proof to the lie that has led Berlin to wage war for a crime that never occurred. With a single act Red has apparently ended the blood feud between the two men but the story is far from over as the reason for the girl’s faked death and the identity of the man making sure the evidence pointed to Reddington still have yet to be explained.
Aside from the reveal of Thompsons’ character being Berlin’s rather than Red’s daughter, ongoing stories are also served by Red delivering The Scimitar into the hands of Navabi for brutal retribution further cementing her loyalty to him should the need arise in the future to choose between Reddington and the FBI. As for Lizzie, she comes no closer to deciding what to do about Tom (Ryan Eggold) as his limited intel begins to bear fruit (although Red’s confrontation with the man and his daughter makes the entire enterprise nothing more than a waste of Agent Keen’s time).
