- Title: The Blacklist – Karakurt
- wiki: link
The search for the SVR assassin known as Karakurt (Michael Massee) sets up next week’s season finale by leading Lizzie (Megan Boone) down a treacherous path where she will be teased with legends about her mysterious Russian mother, and, because of that connection, be framed for the public murder of a prominent member of the United States Government in order to further the agenda of the Cabal.
The Cabal’s plan has a twisted logic to it but also relies a bit too heavy on chance. What if Lizzie had captured Karakurt at Union Station or shot him before he could touch her and make her a carrier of the proto-virus? What if Cooper (Harry Lennix) refused to lead his agents into a trap? What if the FBI hadn’t identified the target in time? If even one of these precarious dominoes fails to fall the entire plan fails.
The finale promises to shake things up with Lizzie on the run after being branded a terrorist and Russian spy. It will be interesting to see just how the other members of the unit decide to handle the situation and what pressure the Cabal will put on them to bring her to justice. With nothing else to loose and her relationship to a mythical Russian spy revealed, and dark secrets no longer keeping Lizzie safe, I curious to see just how much of Lizzie’s past Reddington (James Spader) may now be ready to share and how the dead one continues to connect them decades later.
