While much of the episode is centered around broader season-long storylines, the case of the week involves Reddington (James Spader) sending the FBI after a terrorist who has somehow continued his attacks more than a year after his death. The search for the true identity of the people who have assumed the terrorist’s name to cover their own actions leads back to the CIA and a rogue operator (Boris McGiver) carrying out his own mission. While it takes a bit to wade through the lies and deception, eventually Liz (Megan Boone) and her team are able to uncover the truth.
The fallout of the suitcase subplot leaves Liz and Tom (Ryan Eggold) dealing with Nik’s (Piter Marek) murder. Tom continues to keep silent while investigating on his own leading him to a clinical study and source (Ana Nogueira) who may be able to put him back on the right track. As for Red, while building his new empire and finding a pet service company he can wash his ill-gotten gains through, he continues to search for answers discovering that Tom is connected to Nik’s murder and the mystery of the suitcase. Well, sounds like it’s going to be one hell of a Thanksgiving family dinner.
