- Title: The Big Bang Theory – The Hook-up Reverberation
- wiki: link
The introduction of Raj‘s (Kunal Nayyar) girlfriend Emily (Laura Spencer) to the gang goes well for everyone except Penny (Kaley Cuoco) who picks up on the woman’s obvious dislike for her. Discovering that Raj came clean about their drunken hook-up years ago, Penny attempts to mend fences, but it doesn’t appear that Emily and Penny are going to be getting matching BFF bracelets any time soon.
In the B-story Howard‘s (Simon Helberg) increasing agitation at Stuart (Kevin Sussman) living with Howard’s mother, and the fact that none of the gang particularly like the alternative comic book shop, inspires Howard, Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Raj, and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) to consider bankrolling Stuart’s new store and becoming part owners of the shop. Sadly, the womenfolk aren’t as enthusiastic about their marvelous idea.
With Sheldon and Penny having buried their hatchets a long time ago, the addition of a new member of the group who doesn’t like Penny adds opportunities for more storylines given Emily’s insecurities about Penny’s looks (despite her unflattering new hairdo). The rest of the episode is mostly fluff, allowing the guys to dream of something that will never come to pass and continue building to Howard’s inevitable stroke caused by his mother and Stuart.
