- Title: The Big Bang Theory – The Convention Conundrum
- wiki: link
After failing to get tickets for San Diego Comic-Con, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) decides to hold his own convention and begins searching for suitable celebrities. Deciphering a tweet by James Earl Jones leads the scientist to the actor’s favorite sushi restaurant and the beginning of an unforgettable night between Sheldon and the voice of Darth Vader who “is nicer than you think.”
As Sheldon goes off on what the rest of the group feels is a fool’s errand, Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Howard (Simon Helberg), and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) waffle on whether or not to buy scalped tickets to Comic-Con (which if discovered could get them banned from the convention for life and possibly even charged with a crime). The night is no easier for Penny (Kaley Cuoco), Amy (Mayim Bialik), and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) who fail while trying to have a grown-up evening to make them feel superior to their various partners’ recent childish behavior.
Sheldon’s odd night is certainly memorable although James Earl Jones’ behavior is more than a little odd (I half-expected a line about the actor having an odd reaction to medication of some sort to explain his goofiness and interest in palling around with Sheldon for the evening). Neither of the episode’s back-up stories offer anything to compare to Sheldon’s wild night which even includes a cameo from Carrie Fisher.
