Although her assassination attempt on Olega is thwarted by being unable to reach Master Torbin (Dean-Charles Chapman), Mae‘s (Amandla Stenberg) the attempt clears Osha (Stenberg) of any crime given she was in the custody of the Jedi at the time. Although we’ll have to wait another episode to start filling in Mae’s motivations, the second episode of the series does confirm the exact number of Jedi she’s hunting and their relationship to Mae and Osha’s homeworld of Brendok.
Spending a bit more time with Mae in the episode, we discover her co-conspirator (Manny Jacinto) or at least assistant in procuring her items for her assassinations and offer guidance and a reminder of the expectations of the mystery man Mae is working for. Ordered to investigate, Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), Jecki (Dafne Keen), Yord Fandar (Charlie Barnett), and Osha arrive on Olega leading to a confrontation, the confirmation of Mae’s identity, another assassination attempt, and the sisters (believing each had died on Brendok) coming face-to-face for the first time in years.
With the confirmation of Mae and Osha as separate individuals, and the relationship between them, “Revenge/Justice” offers another solid episode confirming Mae’s mission while still leaving out key details to be explored in the upcoming episodes. The next episode will offer some insight into events which triggered her current course, but for the full story we’ll have to wait a bit longer.
