- Title: Stargirl – Chapter Seven: Infinity Inc. Part One & Chapter Eight: Infinity Inc. Part Two
- wiki: link / link
Although part of the two-part episode deals with the JSA taking down the cameras spread across the city, the death of the Gambler (Eric Goins) is put on hold for a couple of weeks while Stargirl picks up the threads of Jennie (Ysa Penarejo), her brother Todd (Tim Gabriel), the corruption of the Green Lantern’s ring, and a return to the Shadowlands. Although the others get dressed up in taking out the cameras, and Sylvester‘s (Joel McHale) voice is heard over internal comms, we don’t get an appearance by either Starman or Stargirl. Although Courtney (Brec Bassinger) never suits up in the story, she proves to be the hero needed to save both Jennie and Todd while working past her recent self-doubt.
While Pat (Luke Wilson) isn’t initially too bothered by the Shadowlands, his time there certainly seems to have left a mark, particularly in realizing how his relationship with his own father might be affecting Pat’s relationship with Mike (Trae Romano). We also get the long-brewing battle between Yolanda (Yvette Monreal) and her mother finally boil over as the young woman takes a stand, and, as we saw teased previously, we see the beginnings of dangerous side-effects for Rick (Cameron Gellman) using the hourglass longer than an hour.
Infinity Inc, which mainly boils down to Mr. Bones (Keith David) and Nurse Love (Lynne Ashe), with only cameos of other characters, proves to be nothing more than another red herring for the series as the secret organization turns out to be far less evil than Jennie and Courtney originally believe. Bones’ look still doesn’t quite work for me, although the episode does allow for Courtney to work through her recent issues relying not on the staff but only on herself. While Courtney bids farewell to the Shade (Jonathan Cake), Jennie, and Todd for now, there’s certainly still trouble in Blue Valley that needs attention, including the identity of who has been spying on our heroes all season.
