- Title: Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Truth and Consequences
- IMDb: link
“Truth and Consequences” directly follows up the events of “The Clone Conspiracy” by bringing the Bad Batch to Coruscant in search of proof of the Empire’s attack on Kamino. We get a mix of stealth and action with the group sneaking aboard a Star Destroyer undergoing retrofit in order to get proof for Senator Riyo Chuchi (Jennifer Hale) to present to the Galactic Senate before the mission goes sideways and the group has to shoot their way out.
The episode ends playing on similar events in the prequels and The Clone Wars in which Emperor Palpatine uses the situation to his own advantage and leveraging the destruction of Kamino at the hands of Vice Admiral Rampart (Noshir Dalal) and Clone Soldiers as as further proof the Empire needs a new army. Even when the good guys win, they only play into the larger machinations of the Sith Lord hidden in plain sight at the center of the Empire.
As to the obvious similarities between Riyo and Omega (Michelle Ang), “Truth and Consequences” completely ignores them leading to only two possible explanations, neither of which paint the creators of the series in a good light. Either Omega and Riyo are not connected at all and it’s just an awful coincidence of similar animation and line reading of actors or they are in fact linked and every single character is too oblivious to notice or comment on the obvious.
