- Title: Star Wars Rebels – Rise of the Old Masters

“Rise of the Old Masters” teases the appearance of another Jedi Master on the run, although it proves to be nothing more than a trick to lure the crew of the Ghost into a trap in the heavily guarded prison known as The Spire on Stygeon Prime it does provide the first face-to-face meeting between Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and Ezra (Taylor Gray) and the show’s coolest bad guy The Inquisitor (Jason Isaacs).
Offering both a break-in to an impregnable Imperial detention facility and a lightsaber duel between Jedi and Sith, “Rise of the Old Masters” proves to be another strong entry in the show’s early run (if if does cause some continuity issues by completely ignoring The Rule of Two). With his spinning lightsaber The Inquisitor makes for an intriguing villain who I hope we’ll be seeing much more of over the course of the series. Despite some friction between the pair, “Rise of the Old Masters” also cements Kanan and Ezra’s roles as Master and Padawan moving forward with Ezra’s training likely to continue to be a major theme of the series.
