“I love it when it starts getting lurid.”
Throwback Thursday takes us back to the unsolved crimes of passion in the wealthy playground of Palm Beach, Florida. This one has a body count. When a stockbroker is found dead with a bail hook stuck in his chest after removing one-million dollars from his bank, all in small denominations, Chris (Rob Estes) and Rita (Mitzi Kapture) begin looking into the murder and the possible kidnapping of the victim’s teenage daughter (Aimee Graham). That’s one. The evidence of the murder points to the missing daughter’s boyfriend who arranged the fake kidnapping with her help after being fired by the victim, but he’s quickly eliminated as a suspect after turning up dead as well. That’s two.
The victim’s head of security (Madison Mason) offers a tidy solution to the case, but it sounds little too neat to our detectives. When he shows up dead as well in an apparent suicide (and that’s three), Hutchinson (Ben Vereen) is willing to close the case, but Chris and Rita keep digging to find their murderer, although doing so does cost Rita a new bullet wound. Other storylines involve Chris’ inability to spend an evening with his new lady friend (Lehua Reid) and Rita getting hit on by the local Medical Examiner (Danny Gans). “In the Name of Love” is a pretty standard episode for the series, although the suspects being knocked off one by one does shake things up a little.
I had a huge crush on Mitzi for the longest time.
Awesome
