- Title: Scorpion – Love Boat

In an episode that plays on love and Valentine’s Day, Agent Gallo (Robert Patrick) enlists the help of Walter (Elyes Gabel) and his team when a group of terrorists prepare to smuggle stolen rocket launchers out of the country on a luxury cruise ship. Hoping the team can reprogram the devices to make them not only inoperable but traceable the plan calls for Walter, Cabe, Sylvester (Ari Stidham), and Paige (Katharine McPhee) all to be off the boat well before it sets sail. Things don’t go exactly as planned.
Scorpion gets into trouble when it allows the heroic climax of an episode to reach absurd levels which happens again in “Love Boat.” To save the ship passengers who, along with their friends, have been taken hostage, Happy (Jadyn Wong), Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas), and Ralph (Riley B. Smith) are forced to remotely hijack the weapon systems of a Chinese battleship. That sequence may not work, but Happy’s reaction to seeing Toby help Ralph with an over-the-top (and illegal) Valentine’s Day present for a girl in his class does finally win the genius some points. And while the show teases Walter revealing his feelings for Paige the storyline continues to simmer on the backburner while Sylvester shows some bravery both on the ship and by following his heart in what might easily turn into the show’s most intriguing romantic subplot.
