Rick and Two Crows - Rickmurai Jack television review

After an extended anime-style opening sequence that follows up on Rick‘s (Justin Roiland) adventures with two crows, Rick and Morty kicks off the season finale by returning to the Citadel of Ricks to cure Morty (Roiland) of his grandson’s attempts to emotionally blackmail him and finally shed some light on the ultimate goals of Evil Morty (Roiland). The opening is crazy, but dealt with fairly quickly to move onto to an adventure which will touch on several past moments of the series and, perhaps, leave Morty and Rick with a better understanding of each other.

To be honest, I didn’t follow the logic of just how the Citadel was using the Finite Curve Barrier to wall-off realities where Rick isn’t the smartest man, but I can buy Morty wanting to find a universe where this wasn’t the case. More than allowing Evil Morty his moment of triumph, the episode is memorable for confirming several facts about Rick’s past, the creation of the Citadel, and his hatred for it. While most of this had been hinted at or suggested at various times in the series, this is as close as we’ve gotten to confirmation (although this is Rick, so maybe he’s fucking with us once again… are we in a Shoney’s?).
