- Title: Pretty Little Liars – Who’s in the Box?
- wiki: link
Reunions and farewells are common themes of the Pretty Little Liars‘ mid-season premiere. As Emily (Shay Mitchell), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Aria (Lucy Hale), and Hanna (Ashley Benson) deal with the truth that Alison (Sasha Pieterse) is still alive, Toby (Keegan Allen) returns from investigating his mother’s death, Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) returns from his complicated stay in Ravenswood, and Ezra (Ian Harding) proposes that he and Aria give their relationship one more chance after her graduation. Although Ezra may get his wish, although he will also have to deal with Mona (Janel Parrish) who has begun to suspect there’s far more to her teacher than meets the eye, Hanna’s reunion with her boyfriend is short lived.
Each Liar deals with the realization that Alison is alive differently. Aria turns to Ezra (which may turn out to be a very bad idea). Hanna begins a search for who is really buried in their friend’s coffin, but despite talking to a pair of young girls (Skyler Day, Nicole L. Sullivan) whose friend went missing around the same time she’s still left with no answers. Emily lashes out at Paige (Lindsey Shaw) only to realize her real anger is for the first girl she kissed. And Spencer helps Toby get some closure with his mother, although it appears Mr. Hastings (Nolan North) has further use of the cover-up behind the woman’s death.
With every part of the show reinforcing the fact that Ezra is indeed A, Alison alive but still missing, and two of the Liars facing emotional turmoil the stage is set for the rest of the season and the race to find Alison and discover just how close one member of the group has become to the person who has been tormenting them for years. As to what’s in Ezra’s basement (A’s new lair perhaps?) and where Mona’s suspicions may lead, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
