Spencer (Troian Bellisario) begins to take out her anger over her breakup with Toby (Keegan Allen) on Mona (Janel Parrish), especially once she finds herself thrown out of the decathlon team for missing several practices. Acting more erratic, she also decides on a game of strip trivia with Andrew (Brandon Jones) to win his vote and her way back on the team and ropes Julian Wren (Julian Morris) into taking her out for the night for duplicitous purposes.
But despite Emily’s (Shay Mitchell) concern for her friend, Spencer continues to push away the rest of the Liars and refuses to discuss the events surrounding her breakup with Toby and her discovery that he was working for A the entire time. And so there’s no one to stop her from physically attacking Mona the night before the decathlon.
Emily also spends some time with Jason (Parker Bagley) who has become the latest victim of A’s pranks as he continues to search for answers concerning Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) possible pregnancy. He also admits he’s being spending time with Mona because he believes the unstable young woman knows who dug up his sister’s remains. However their night together ends in tragedy when an elevator accident leaves him hospitalized (at least until the moment he mysteriously disappears from the emergency room).
Hanna (Ashley Benson) continues to try and push Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) into a reconciliation with his uncle (Bernard Curry), who is actually his father, something the young man isn’t sure if he’s ready to deal with. Aria (Lucy Hale) agrees to help CeCe (Vanessa Ray) with the photos she needs to complete a website and drags Wesley (Gregg Sulkin) along for the ride and even offers to let him crash on her couch (which becomes awkward after he kisses her).
The latest tragedy brings the foursome back together, although Spencer continues to hide the truth about Toby from the rest of her friends. As to what really happened surrounding Jason’s accident, those answers disappear with him as the Liars appear to have lost another ally in their war against A.
