- Title: Pretty Little Liars – The Melody Lingers On
- wiki: link
As Alison‘s (Sasha Pieterse) trial begins Aria (Lucy Hale) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) continue to search for the mysterious Varjak whose only contact with the Liars is to play “Paris Skies A” over the phone, a song A teases the girls with as well after their nemesis beats them to searching Mona‘s (Janel Parrish) bedroom. Despite A’s gloating, the Liars do find a clue but do they have enough time to decipher it before Alison, and likely Hanna (Ashley Benson), is sentenced to prison?
The first days of trial aren’t helpful to Alison’s case. Despite having second thoughts about Alison’s guilt after talking with Spencer (Troian Bellisario), whose mother forbids her from attending the trial, Jason‘s (Drew Van Acker) testimony isn’t helpful as it reveals his relationship with Hanna’s mother and a motive for him to change his story. Also troubling to the defense is the prosecution’s choice of motive in the murder, surprising the entire courtroom by stating that Alison’s abduction story was a lie (perpetrated with the help of the Liars) and Alison killed Mona because she had learned the truth. This knowledge by the prosecution suggests they may have gotten a tip or two from A, steering the court case in a direction which could be used to damage all five girls.
