- Title: Pretty Little Liars – She’s No Angel

“She’s No Angel” brings Lesli Stone (Elizabeth McLaughlin) back to Rosewood in an episode that further confuses the truth about Charles DiLaurentis by suggesting, not for the first time, that A might be a woman. Spencer‘s (Troian Bellisario) nightmares about a young girl she believes may have been kept in the dollhouse leads her and Hanna (Ashley Benson) back to Radley where Spencer’s dream comes more into focus and, thanks to Mona (Janel Parrish), the pair make an important discovery linking Lesli to both Radley and Charles.
There are plenty of seriously convenient coincidences in the latest episode (somehow both Charles and Lesli’s files both got left behind in the condemned mental institution) along with the unanswered question of the identity of the girl haunting Spencer (which certainly ups the creep factor of the episode but ultimately has no payoff). On a positive note, Spencer’s journey allows her to come to grips not only with her bad dreams but her slow slide back into substance-abuse issues before it became something far more serious.
Other storylines involve Mona facing possible criminal charges for her attempt to frame Alison (Sasha Pieterse) for her murder, Emily (Shay Mitchell) pushing Sara (Dre Davis) to take control of her life (although it seems to mean more to Emily than Sara) ending in a trip to a tattoo parlor, and Aria‘s (Lucy Hale) resurgence into photography which will eventually dovetail into Spencer’s story and give the show a very likely red herring to pursue in Lesli for the foreseeable future. Although Lesli is almost certainly not A, the discovery of her timeline crossing that of Charles may eventually lead to some solid answers for the Liars concerning the true story about Alison’s brother and whether or not he is the one who has been tormenting them for years.
