- Title: Pretty Little Liars – Run, Ali, Run

The destruction of Toby‘s (Keegan Allen) childhood home and the return of A leaves the Liars scrambling for answers. Picking up the pieces of the show’s 100th episode, Alison (Sasha Pieterse) plans to leave Rosewood and Hanna (Ashley Benson) is inclined to help her (although it has more to do with Hanna’s uneasiness to what Alison’s return has done to her personality than for her friend’s safety). Getting wind of their plans, Emily (Shay Mitchell) steps in to stop Alison slinking back in the shadows at the opportune time to rescue her friend and stop A, or one of their enemy’s minions, from choking the life out of Ali in her own home.
Shana‘s (Aeriel Miranda) death brings Lieutenant Tanner (Roma Maffia) back into the Liars orbit with questions for both Alison and Ezra (Ian Harding). Meanwhile, Ezra and Aria (Lucy Hale) work together in an attempt to link Mrs. DiLaurentis and Bethany Young (the dead young woman mistaken for Alison) to Radley causing Spencer (Troian Bellisario), when she isn’t busy trying to bring her parents back together, to make a visit to the sanitarium in hopes of getting some information from Eddie Lamb (Reggie Austin). Although Spencer is unsuccessful in both of her endeavors, Lamb does reach out (in a way) to Ezra, and Miss Hastings does come up with a back-up plan for the Liars to get information from the sanitarium.
With Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) and Travis (Luke Kleintank) tiring of Hanna’s recent behavior one Liar finds herself abandoned from all sides on the relationship front. Fighting their feelings for each other Aria and Ezra pull back from their recent slip as well, and despite the betrayal Emily felt from Alison’s recent lies that doesn’t stop her from putting her own life on the line to protect her friend and refuse to let Alison abandon what little protection her friends can offer. Although the two don’t resume the more passionate aspect of their relationship, “Run, Ali, Run” does include a telling timelapse sequence of the conflicted emotions Emily has for the first girl she ever loved but may never be able to ever fully trust.
A returned with a bang last week and remains a constant this week gleefully celebrating the fallout for Alison and the Liars. Although the reasons are unclear, by the end of the episode it’s obvious A wants, perhaps even needs, Alison in Rosewood. With Tanner beginning to connect Ezra and Shana’s shootings I would expect Aria’s secret to be discovered before long leading to some possible serious repercussions with Ezra’s snugglebunny. And although we don’t get appearances from Mona (Janel Parrish) or her cabal, we do see their influence after Emily pries the names of the Anti-Alison club from Paige (Lindsey Shaw) when Emily’s ex finds a dead rat in her gym locker. A is back with a vengeance and the Liars‘ lives just got way more complicated (again).
