- Title: Pretty Little Liars – Out of the Frying Pan into the Inferno
- wiki: link
As Aria (Lucy Hale) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) discuss whether or not to tell Spencer (Troian Bellisario) that Aria’s father (Chad Lowe) saw Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) outside Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) house the night she disappeared, Spencer deals silently with the revelation that Toby (Keegan Allen) has been working for A the entire time they have been dating. Further shaken by a text message she believes to be from Aria, Spencer makes the mistake of revealing the truth to Ezra (Ian Harding) about Maggie (Larisa Oleynik) and his son – the truth Aria has been keeping from him for months.
Emily receives a box of Alison’s old belongings from Nate’s (Sterling Sulieman) family, which freaks her mother out (Nia Peeples) enough to talk with Detective Wilden (Bryce Johnson), but Emily is far too curious about a notebook and a conversation Alison was having with CeCe Drake (Vanessa Ray) about a “beach hottie” who Alison was obviously afraid of if he learned that she was carrying his child.
Hanna (Ashley Benson) trails Paige (Lindsey Shaw) to a lesbian club after she discover Paige and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) are the ones trading psychological fire with Mona (Janel Parrish) and try to talk them out of whatever they are planning before everyone gets burned. However all she gets for her trouble is getting busted for underage drinking. Emily agrees to turn over the notebook to the police but has second thoughts after realizing Wilden could be the “beach hottie” their friend was describing.
It’s not a good week for our Liars as each face their own obstacles, tough decisions, break-ups, and revelations. Not willing to let the matter rest, Spencer hires (Andrew Elvis Miller) to find the secret that A’s key unlocks. Ezra leaves town to go meet his son. And, from the non-too-subtle foreshadowing in the closing scene, it appears A is going to turn the heat up on Hanna. Perhaps literally.
