- Title: Pretty Little Liars – Of Late I Think Of Rosewood
- wiki: link
Five years after the mid-season finale and reveal of CeCe “Charlotte DiLaurentis” Drake (Vanessa Ray) as the Liars‘ nemesis A, Alison (Sasha Pieterse) calls back all four of her friends to Rosewood hoping to convince each of them to speak on Charlotte’s behalf at a hearing concerning releasing her from a psychiatric hospital. Based on the testimony of Mona (Janel Parrish) and three of the Liars their former tormentor goes free, but life outside of the hospital for A is short-lived as her body is discovered the next morning by the Rosewood Police. It appears a new murder mystery will keep all four girls in town far longer than any of them had planned.
Aside from Spencer‘s (Troian Bellisario) hair, several changes have occurred to both the setting and characters of the show. Some are revealed early on while others, like the story behind Emily‘s (Shay Mitchell) new pill habit and a possible romantic relationship between Spencer and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn), are only hinted at. Even Radley has changed from sanitarium to upscale hotel/resort. While each Liar has carved out a successful new life for herself it’s obvious that all four still carry the scars from their time in Rosewood.
Dre Davis returns as Sara Harvey who, from her limited appearance here, may play the Jenna role of frenemy this time around. We’re also introduced to a broken Ezra (Ian Harding) and an emotional Aria (Lucy Hale) who, among all the Liars, is the only one strong enough to tell the truth about her feelings for A in the episode’s most emotional scene. Given the news that the police suspect foul play in Charlotte’s death it can be no surprise that the Liars would all be prime suspects in her murder. The fact that all four spent the evening together in Hanna‘s (Ashley Benson) hotel room gives them alibis (which, based on experience, we can expect the show to begin chipping away at as soon as next week).
