- Title: Pretty Little Liars – EscApe From New York
- wiki: link
Picking up immediately following the closing events of last season’s finale, the Fifth Season premiere opens with the Ezra (Ian Harding) rushed to the hospital after the shooting where Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and the Liars put together a quick plan to draw out A. Although they manage to get their enemy out of the hospital, they aren’t prepared for the number of hooded crazies who actually show up loosing their chance to grab A. With Aria (Lucy Hale) at the hospital waiting for Ezra to pull through surgery, Alison, Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Hanna (Ashley Benson), and Emily (Shay Mitchell) hole up in an old theater where Ezra once took her foolishly believing they might be safe for the night.
Staring to put pieces together with the girls’ disappearances and Ezra’s shooting Detective Holbrook (Sean Faris) begins to piece together part of the mystery. And, in the other subplot, Mona (Janel Parrish) gathers a few of Alison’s old enemies including Paige (Lindsey Shaw) and Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) to deal collectively with Alison’s inevitable return to Rosewood which doesn’t bode well for the Liars.
Both beginning and ending in tragedy, “EscApe From New York” offers some answers as to the true motives of both Cece Drake (Vanessa Ray) and Shana (Aeriel Miranda), one of whom will be unmasked as an enemy and the other a true friend of Alison’s during her exile. We don’t learn what information Mr. Hastings (Nolan North) doesn’t want Melissa to reveal or the true identity of A (as Shana was forcibly turned by someone unknown last season, likely A). Those mysteries, Aria’s complicated relationship withe Ezra, and the upheaval of Alison’s return to Rosewood are likely to provide much of the driving force of the season.
This season is gonna be so good
