As Pretty Little Liars moves ever closer to its series finale, the show finally presents us with a lead suspect as A.D., but given its years of red herrings, could this really be the identity of the Liars nemesis? Or, with only two episodes remaining, does the show have time for one last twist? There’s quite a bit going on here as Aria‘s (Lucy Hale) friends discover her working for A.D., Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) decide to tie the knot, an old face returns to helm Archer Dunhill‘s murder, and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) finds some much needed comfort from an old friend.
While working for A.D. seems to have cost Aria her friends but provided her with an alibi, A.D.’s final goodbye of sticking a dead body in her trunk certainly leaves things murky for the Liar. The show doesn’t leave much time for the rest of the group to forgive Aria’s betrayal, but given the sudden appearance of the dead body everyone is searching for, and the boatload of guilt she’s carrying around, I’d be surprised if the series comes to a close with her still on the outs. Spencer’s choice to end the game, and the fact that we’ve only got a pair of episodes remaining, should mean an escalation in the war between A.D. and the Liars. Given the reveals to close out both of these episodes the show’s favorite frenemy Mona (Janel Parrish) is certainly an obvious choice for A.D., but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s really how things play out.
