Without any spoken dialogue, Only Murders in the Building answers some very large questions while providing on hell of an episode. First, we discover who killed Zoe (Olivia Reis) all those years ago and who the other person was on the roof that night who Tim Kono (Julian Cihi) saw and why he never came forward. Second, against all odds, Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) confirm the podcast’s latest crazy theory about their sponsor which turns out to be true.

Opening by centering on Theo (James Caverly), the deaf son of Teddy (Nathan Lane), who has grown suspicious what the podcasters may have uncovered, the episode keeps to a muffled audio even after shifting to the perspectives of other characters by relying on texts, sign language, and a  hot and heavy Scrabble game, to further the storyline. It’s surprising how much is revealed in “The Boy from 6B,” and how well the contrivance of the episode works ending on a cliffhanger with Charles (Steve Martin), high on the unexpected success of his date, discovering the trouble his new friends have gotten themselves into leading to the first, and last, spoken exclamation of the episode.
