- Title: Once Upon a Time – Siege Perilous

Both the Dark Emma and Camelot storylines continue in an episode which gives an unexpected twist to each tale. During the lost days in Camelot we see David (Josh Dallas) earn a spot at the Round Table, despite failing in his quest alongside Camelot’s king, but the flashbacks also reveal the darker motivations of King Arthur (Liam Garrigan). Despite befriending Charming in both Camelot and Storybrooke it is obvious the king has his own agenda which will likely put him at odds with the town’s heroes before too long.
While most of the rest of the episode centers around Emma (Jennifer Morrison) attempting to remove Excalibur from the stone and entice Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) into rekindling their romance, the biggest moment of Emma’s storyline comes at the end of the episode with the awakening of Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) and the reveal of the Dark One’s plans for its former host. It’s this twist, which continues to place characters in new roles, that offers a new wrinkle to the plot which I’m very curious to see play out in the coming weeks.
