- Title: Once Upon a Time – Broken Heart

“Broken Heart” wraps up the Camelot flashbacks in an episode that focuses on Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) taking naturally to his role as a Dark One both in Camelot and in Storybrooke following the return of his memory. We witness the casting to the curse, the reasoning behind Emma’s mindwipe of her friends and family, and the death of Merlin (Elliot Knight) and the hands of the Dark Ones. With Emma‘s (Jennifer Morrison) plans in shambles she have to do what she can to win back the trust of her loved ones starting with Henry (Jared Gilmore).
Rumpelstiltskin‘s (Robert Carlyle) hero turn continues as he refuses to run from a duel with Hook. It’s a good thing too because given the reveal of Hook’s plan of releasing all the former Dark Ones on Storybrooke the town will need all the heroes it can find heading into next week’s mid-season finale. Sadly, even after finding his courage, it isn’t enough for the former Dark One to keep the woman he loves.
