After Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford) is forced to tell Nikita (Maggie Q) the truth that Sonya (Lyndie Greenwood) is Amanda’s (Melinda Clarke) mole within Division, the team decides to use the knowledge to bait Amanda and find her new base of operations. To do so they will also have to smoke out Amanda’s second mole who is keeping watch on Sonya’s movements and reporting back whether or not the former Division chief needs to activate Sonya’s Kill Chip.
Michael (Shane West) confronts Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) about her drug use and benches her from active duty until she gets clean and admits to her problem to Nikita. Mistaking Michael’s concern for Alex’s addiction for a romantic relationship, Amanda tries to use pictures of the two together to drive a wedge between Nikita and Michael. Realizing how Amanda got the intel, the group lays a trap for the legendary Watchman, Division’s close-security expert, who has been surveilling Michael and Alex.
With Birkhoff’s help, Nikita follows the chameleon from the fake lover’s rendezvous in a seedy nightclub allowing the nerd trace his upload to Quebec City. With the four possible moles temporarily out of play, and Nikita and Michael in the field, Birkhoff starts the delicate and complicated procedure to deactivate Sonya’s Kill Chip. Staying behind, Alex is able to find Amanda’s second mole, but with the chip still activated Nikita and Michael are forced to wait to take down Anne (Sarah Allen) and Amanda until they are already on the move.
The plan is a success, at least for Sonya who is freed of Amanda’s control, and for Division who gets rid of two moles with one stone. Although Nikita is able to kill Anne, Amanda gets away, and to save Michael’s life she’s forced to make a split-second decision which will no doubt have major ramifications for the couple’s immediate future as well as the continued search for Amanda.
