- Title: NCIS: Hawai’i – Misplaced Targets
- wiki: link
An explosion during the raid of a meth lab leads NCIS to uncover Kai (Alex Tarrant) was the target of his old frenemy A.J. Hale (Jonah Ho’okano) who later baits the agent into an assault in his father’s restaurant. Unable to pin anything on A.J., NCIS squeezes his wife (Diana Lu), although in the frenzy afterwards Kai makes a discovery that will change his views of the criminal he’s spent the past several months attempting to take down. The conclusion of the A.J. story is notable, however, it’s the return of another cast member that provides several of the episode’s best moments.
Our B-story lets us look in on Agent Afloat Lucy Tara (Yasmine Al-Bustami) investigating assault and theft aboard the aircraft carrier. While the case seems wrapped up easily enough with the recovery of a small amount of the missing money, Lucy continues to dig finding not only the full $30,000 but also the person truly behind the theft. The B-story blends over to land with Lucy talking with Ernie (Jason Antoon) about her case and his feelings over the return of Dalia Reed (Lauren Cook) which also provides a nice moment between Ernie and Jesse (Noah Mills) to close out the episode.
