- Title: NCIS: Hawai’i – Bread Crumbs

NCIS: Hawai’i offers a well-worn story trope for the action/cop show when Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) goes missing when the helicopter transferring a prisoner (Dylan Kenin) across the island goes down in the jungle. While her team begins the search to find her, Tennant and the only other agent (Nick Creegan) not hurt in the crash go after the prisoner only to find themselves wounded themselves and trapped in a cave deep in the wilderness and far from the eyes of those who will come looking for them.
We get several flashbacks to Tennant’s childhood which only reinforce aspects of the character the show has already shown the audience without offering much more information about the character or specifically tied to the current case. The episode is notable for several characters stepping up in different ways including Jesse (Noah Mills) taking control at headquarters, Kai (Alex Tarrant) and Whistler (Tori Anderson) leading the search on the ground, and Ernie (Jason Antoon) offering information and comfort to Alex (Kian Talan). Also stepping up are Chase (Seana Kofoed) are Boom Boom (Sharif Atkins) who help look into the missing NCIS agent that Tennant believes the prisoner killed.
