- Title: Naomi – Enigma
- wiki: link
After discovering that her parents knew she arrived from another world, Naomi McDuffie (Kaci Walfall) sets out to learn as much about her murky origins as possible. The flashbacks to “Enigma” are underwhelming to say the least, especially compared to how the reveal works in the original comics. I’m not sure if Naomi’s parents are still hiding more details from her (like say one of her parents also not being from this world) or if the episode’s writing is simply substandard and will continue to recon story and plot at random as the series has done repeatedly since the first episode to offer underwhelming reveals.
We also get a school election and a weird escape room sequence to keep the various teen characters involved. The latter, against all logic and common sense, somehow leads her into the path of Akira (Stephanie March) whose relationship with both Naomi and Zumbado (Cranston Johnson) continues to be loosely defined. Naomi’s use of her powers also draws unwanted attention both from the United States Government and from alien bounty hunters who also have some undisclosed interest in the girl. While it’s obvious Naomi needs more training to deal with the various threats, continued use of her powers only makes it easier for her to be found suggesting some troubled times for the teen.
