- Title: Moon Knight – The Friendly Type

Although it doesn’t stay with the idea for more than a few minutes, the third episode has some fun reversing the framing of the episodes from what has come before. Now we see Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) jumping into reality not understanding what events have occurred in his absence as Steven, or someone else, has taken control. This provides some of the most fun of an episode that otherwise seems to get a little lost on the way of continuing to advance the plot. Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) continues to dig in the desert to find Ammit. Rather than find and stop him our hero and his god decide to confront the other Egyptian gods without proof (other than, you know, the villain digging in the desert in the exact spot doing exactly what he’s accused of).
Instead of looking for Harrow in the desert, Marc and Layla (May Calamawy) follow an obscure clue to a black market art dealer. It may provide a good action scene but the whole subplot seems pointless. And, even if you buy the logic for their trip to Cairo, rather than continuing the dig at the site he already knows about where everything he wants is in reach, Harrow stops everything to show up as well. It’s certainly a round-about way to get everyone to the tomb for the next episode in the series. It gets no less awkward as rather than Khonshu (F. Murray Abraham) simply tracking his former avatar’s movements (isn’t he a god? certainly he still has some connection to his former avatar?) he turns back the night sky bringing down the wrath of the other gods and leaving him imprisoned in stone.
