After disappearing with Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) for a month following the events of the Third Season finale, Chloe (Lauren German) returns apparently having come to terms with her partner’s devilish nature. True to his nature, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) attempts to poke and prod his partner to get to the hidden unresolved issues (which he is at least partially right in recognizing). The gang is all back in the first episode of the show’s move to Netflix and subplots involve Amenadiel‘s (D.B. Woodside) return to Los Angeles, Dan (Kevin Alejandro) still struggling with the loss of Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer), and Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) looking for forgiveness from her first human friend.
While offering a murder of the week to solve, involving a gangster turned honey maker in witness protection, the main focus of the season premiere is to deal with unresolved events from the end of the previous season and return Lucifer to the status quo. Crime solving Devil is back in action, and feeling a bit more secure about himself than at any time over the past month (as Chloe’s return and a case which Lucifer personally identifies with the victim see to reinvigorate him). However, despite outward appearances, things aren’t quite back to normal just yet as “Everything’s Okay” foreshadows something looming for Lucifer in the plan hatched by Father Kinley (Graham McTavish) which Chloe is apparently on board with.
