- Title: Longmire – A Fog That Won’t Lift
- wiki: link
Longmire‘s new season begins just moments after the Fourth Season finale with Cady (Cassidy Freeman) finding her father bleeding to death of a gunshot wound. Despite barely surviving, Walt (Robert Taylor) leaves the hospital only half a day later in search of the missing Donna (Ally Walker) who no one knew was with Walt during the attack and has been abducted (or worse) by the person responsible for shooting the sheriff with his own gun and leaving him for dead. Over the course of the season premiere Walt will fight the concern of his friends and family and the mental fog which leaves him with only scattered moments of the shooting.
Ignoring the pain and limitations of his injuries, Walt dives deep into the investigation. At first believing Walker Browning (Callum Rennie) to be responsible, Walt is forced to admit there’s no evidence to support his theory and one of the missing psychologist’s patients or someone else (like a former deputy) the sheriff may have wronged could also be responsible. There’s also the sudden appearance of the doc’s deadbeat son with money troubles to consider. By the end of the search Walt is no closer to determining just what happened or whether Donna is alive or dead.
Before learning of Walt hitting the sheets with Donna, the episode does tease us with the idea of Walt and Vic (Katee Sackhoff), but the possibility is almost immediately snuffed out once again. As for the other cliffhanger from last season, Henry (Lou Diamond Phillips) is made and offer he can’t refuse to continue his work as Hector… but no longer on his own terms.
