- Title: Loki – Breaking Brad

Largely ignoring more immediate threats, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius (Owen Wilson) go in search of the missing Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) which leads them to Hunter X-05 (Rafael Casal) who abandoned his hunt for Sylvie to live out his life as a movie star in the late 1970s. The majority of the episode features Loki and Mobius capturing X-05 and then threatening and torturing him for information (showing off a bit of Loki’s more sinister side) before eventually leading to Loki’s reunion with Sylvie and basically lucking into a discovery of just what some members of the TVA are up to.
While our main characters ignore the danger to the TVA, which I’m not sure how finding Sylvie would solve, Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan) is at least working on the immediate problem. While the episode does give us Loki and Sylvie’s reunion, and some fun in Loki torturing X-05, I’m not sure what actual purpose the episode plays in the larger arc. The splinter group of TVA agents are stopped so that plot thread basically ends before it gets started, Sylvie still has no interest in returning, and no one is searching for or preparing for the arrival of Kang (Jonathan Majors) whose name is known to the viewers but not the characters in the series making any mention of him incredibly awkward.
