- Title: Legends of Tomorrow – Ground Control to Sara Lance
- wiki: link
The Sixth Season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow kicks off with Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) missing in action after being abducted by aliens, who apparently include Gary (Adam Tsekhman), from 1977 London leaving Ava (Jes Macallan) to rally the troops and find her girlfriend. While searching for a lead, the Legends enlist the reluctant help of former abductee Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz (Lisseth Chavez) and the episode also introduces the idea of alien magic which Constantine (Matt Ryan) attempts to use to help locate Sara.
The goofiest band of time traveling misfits returns for a solid premiere (although I can’t help still miss some of those no longer present on the Waverider as Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Brandon Routh have left big shoes to fill). Sara’s separation from the team will continue past the opener, suggesting the search for her will be one of the primary themes of the season (also suggesting this will be more of a space-based season rather than a time-based on one). The space setting doesn’t prevent the show’s running theme of introducing dickish or humorous versions of historic characters (poor Spartacus). While giving him something to do this season, Gary’s reveal as an alien creates all kinds of continuity questions which are, of course, ignored.
