- Title: Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny
- wiki: link
The first episode of Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny introduces us to the four rambunctious Pandas who will, by the end of the episode, become Po‘s (Mick Wingert) new students. While playing Nu Hai (Haley Tju), Bao (Gunnar Sizemore), Jing (Laya DeLeon Hayes), and Fan Tong (Makana Say) discover a mystical cave beneath Panda Village where they receive the chi from ancient kung fu warriors, the Four Constellations. Believing their story to be nothing more than childish fantasy, Po is gifted with a vision of his own which clues him into the Dragon Warrior’s new path as teacher.
Although there is an appearance by Po’s father, and another familiar face in Po’s vision, “Enter the Dragon Master” lacks much of a tie to previous Kung Fu Panda movies and shows other than the title character in that most of the characters seen here are brand new. The foursome are a bit obnoxious, but the episode does a fairly good job of showcasing why they need someone like Po to take them under their wing (not only to train them in kung fu, but also to keep them out of trouble). So far I’ve only seen the first episode, so I’m guessing the show will delve into both the Four Constellations, what the powers the children have been given entail, and get more information on the new villains who are after that power in the episodes to come.
