- Title: Killjoys – A Glitch in the System

The latest episode of Killjoys is your basic haunted house, or in this case haunted spaceship, story. Lucy (voiced by Tamsen McDonough) and the crew decide to do a little treasure hunting when they discover what they believe to be an empty cargo ship in the middle of an asteroid field. What they find isn’t a cargo ship but an old military transport with two surviving members, one of whom uses the opportunity of the other ship’s arrival to jump into space shortly after Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen), John (Aaron Ashmore), and D’Avin (Luke Macfarlane) dock.
Keeping the crew in space is a nice change in pace after several planet-side episodes. Despite at first appearing to be a victim, the last survivor (Richard Clarkin) of the ship attacks D’Avin and begins torturing him for information the former soldier could not possibly have. The unforeseen consequence of their session is to let John and Dutch both in on why D’Avin left the service and the little he remembers about his final assignment. With a little ingenuity, and more than a little reckless abandon, Dutch is able to get her crew off the freighter and back aboard their ship before any more harm can befall them.
While still leaving the exact events a mystery, D’Avin’s past is finally shared among the group leaving Dutch as the last member of the crew hiding dangerous secrets about her past. John’s shock but complete acceptance of the situation is a nice touch (although I have to wonder what his reaction to learning more about Dutch will be). However, the reappearance of Khlyen (Rob Stewart) suggests that Dutch’s past has finally caught up with her and may endanger the only lives in the galaxy she cares about protecting.
