- Title: iZombie – Some Like It Hot Mess

“Some Like It Hot Mess” proves to be a gamechanger for several characters. With Liv (Rose McIver) on the brain of a scatterbrained millennial she’s of little help to Ravi (Rahul Kohli) in the morgue, Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) on the case, or the Major (Robert Buckley) who slowly begins showing the symptoms of memory loss after his return to human form. The situation also forces Blaine (David Anders) to come clean about a secret he’s been hiding for months, not only does the cure work but the memory loss side-effects are temporary. He remembers everything about his old life, a revelation that Peyton (Aly Michalka) is less than pleased to learn.
While providing a clear path for Liv’s cure and a new human life with Major, the episode also sets up the new conflict which will prevent this from happening. An early scene of Don E. (Bryce Hodgson) attempting to buy a dose of the cure for a wealthy client foreshadows the later robbery of the morgue. There is a cure out there for zombiism, but now it’s out of the reach of Liv once more leaving her stuck in her current situation (which turns out to be a good thing for us because the show has been renewed for another season and we’re going to need zombie Liv and her visions for quite awhile longer).
