- Title: iZombie – Dead Rat, Live Rat, Brown Rat, White Rat

Helping to set the stage for next week’s season finale, “Dead Rat, Live Rat, Brown Rat, White Rat” offers Liv (Rose McIver) momentary hope when Ravi‘s (Rahul Kohli) zombie rat experiment suggests he may have discovered a cure for zombism. That moment of hope will soon be dashed by the rat’s death, the discovery that Liv has unintentionally created another zombie (Matthew MacCaull) now out on a killing spree, and someone close to Liv will discover her secret in about the worst way possible. Some days it just doesn’t pay to be a zombie.
The brains of the week alter Liv’s personality from a plucky cheerleader whose personality not only helps get answers from one of the murder victim’s high school friends but also allows Liv to connect with Peyton (Aly Michalka) to a stoner who has little to contribute with the case. Sadly the need to eat the brains of a stoner brings their short-lived girl bonding to an end and leaves Liv’s best friend even more concerned with her roommate. Of course by the end of the episode Peyton has far more important things to worry about after seeing Liv in full-on zombie mode fighting for her life.
Given the fact that Major (Robert Buckley) gets caught snooping into Blaine‘s (David Anders) operation once again and the show picks up the thread of Liv’s brother (Nick Purcha) being dragged into the entire situation I think it’s safe to say that Peyton won’t be the only one to be either hurt or shown the truth before the season comes to a close next week. The CW has already renewed the show for a Second Season so I’ll be curious to see where it decides to leave Liv and company heading into next year.
