- Title: Houdini & Doyle – Strigoi
- IMDb: link
A threat against Bram Stoker (Paul Ritter) and the murder of his housekeeper forces Arthur Conan Doyle (Stephen Mangan) to stand-up for his friend while Harry Houdini (Michael Weston) and Constable Adelaide Stratton (Rebecca Liddiard) suspect the Dracula author may be the killer they are looking for. Stoker’s behavior of drinking blood and disappearing from a cell in police headquarters don’t help the author’s case.
In an odd episode featuring a vampiric cult and self-professed vampire hunters, one (Owen Teale) of whom abducts Houdini as leverage to get his hands on Stoker, one of the detectives gets himself buried alive while writer Carl Binder has fun teasing the idea the Stoker may be a real vampire. The episode’s B-story involves Adelainde continuing to look into her husband’s life and death which leads her to believe and anarchist group tied to a series of assassinations may be responsible. The break-in at Adelaide’s home isn’t the only tragedy to hit the group as Houdini faces a personal loss in this week’s closing scene.
