- Title: Hawaii Five-0 – Pale ‘la

The investigation into the murder of a real estate agent found behind the drywall of a recently-sold home takes a backseat to a pair of storylines involve characters’ personal lives. After picking up his mother (Melanie Griffith) from the airport, Danny (Scott Caan) struggles to deal with the bombshell that she’s divorcing his father and moving on with her life. Railing against the situation for most of the episode, Danny finally comes to terms with the news and offers his mother the support she needs.
After being approached by a local reporter (Ethan Embry) doing a story on an incident in Chicago six months before Grover (Chi McBride) relocated to Hawaii, McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) learns more about his friend’s troubled past and the demons which still haunt him concerning a murder-suicide he failed to prevent. Unable to appeal to the reporter’s better nature, and understanding that the facts wouldn’t paint the Hawaii PD’s new SWAT Commander in the best light, McGarrett instead offers the man a future favor to drop the story which, as we know from four seasons of the show, will definitely come back to bite Five-0 in the ass.
Eventually Kono (Grace Park) and Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) are able to get a break in the case involving the gun from police evidence which should have been destroyed but ended up the hands of jealous husband who killed both his wife and the realtor she was sleeping with. Given how much time is spent on the other two storylines there’s not much left over for the murder of the week, but Chin still finds a way to make a dramatic entrance (through a window) while tracking down the gun which was used to commit the double-homicide.
